Mr. Columbus Melvin Yarborough passed Thursday, November 3, 2022. Graveside service with Military Honors will be Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Florence National Cemetery, 803 E. National Cemetery Road, Florence, SC. Public viewing will be Monday, November 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM in Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel.  Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington is in charge of arrangements.

 Mr. Columbus Melvin “Flash” Yarborough, son of the late Malon and Alice Mae Arthur Yarborough,  was born on September 2, 1952 in Darlington, South Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

 He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools, graduating from Mayo High School in the Class of 1969.

  Flash served his country in the US Army from August 10, 1972 to August 9, 1978 as a SGT.

  He was employed by the Trayco, Inside Sales from which he retired in 2017.

 Flash  loved watching the Washington Redskins play football on Sundays.

 Those left to cherish fond memories are: two children, Laveshia (Cory) Yarborough-Wall of Camden, SC and T`Challa (Eric) Yarborough-Douglas of Darlington, SC; three grandchildren, Erica Douglas, Eric Douglas, Jr. and Erin Douglas all of Darlington, SC; three sisters, Patsy (Thomas) Sawyer, Vernie Mae Yarborough and Giovonnia McCall; one brother, Ronald (Theresa) Yarborough; a special niece, Wynter McCall; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.   

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents  Malon and Alice Mae Arthur Yarborough.
