On Monday, January 9, 2023, Mrs. Lucille Hudson Gales of Lamar, passed from time to eternity. Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington is privileged to serve the family.

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Lucille Hudson Gales of Lamar, will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Greater Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, Inc., 265 South Church Street, Florence, S.C. Interment will follow at the Florence National Cemetery. Public viewing will be Monday, January 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM at Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel, 108 Lee Street, Darlington, S.C. 29532. The family is receiving friends at 118 McClain Street, Lamar, SC. Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. who is privileged to serve the family. Mrs. Lucille Hudson Gales was a daughter of the late James Woodrow Hudson, Sr. and Mrs. Hattie Juanita Hudson. She was born on January 9, 1957 in Darlington County. She departed this earthly life on Monday, January 9, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.

Lucille was reared in King Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lynchburg, South Carolina. Lucille attended Spaulding High School in Lamar, South Carolina. She retired from the Lamar Town Hall. Lucille was a faithful member of the Greater Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, Inc. under the leadership of the late Suffragan Bishop Harold E. Sawyer, Sr. and cur- rently, Suffragan Bishop Rodney James. Lucille was a faithful, dedicated and willing worker at her church for many years. Sister Gales as she was known at church sang on the Senior Choir, worked with the Women’s Missionary Department, assisting in any way possible whenever asked. She was known as an outstanding usher, serving all the way until the end.

Lucille was always noted for her infectious smile and was always hand in hand with her husband, Pearly. They married on September 19, 1975. She loved traveling to see her children and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved making bows, ribbons, cooking, shopping and fishing.

Lucille was preceded in death by her lovely parents, the late James Woodrow Hudson, Sr. and Hattie Juanita Hudson; four sisters, Rosa Mae

Demonia, Daisy Bell Pringle-Ward, Rosa Lee Harris and Juanita Hudson-

Bess. Seven brothers, Harry Lee, David Lee, Baby Boy Hudson, James Hudson, Jr., Curtis Lee Hudson, and John Henry Hudson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Pearly Gales, Jr. of the home; her son, Anthony Hudson of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Tanya (Sunday) McFadden and Crystal (Roosevelt) Fletcher both of Fort Worth, Texas; six granddaughters, Jonya McFadden, Tiyanna McFadden, Christa Gibson, Precious Gales, Shaeyonnie Wright all of Fort Worth, Texas and Saniya Hudson of Columbia, S.C.; two grandsons, Anthony Hudson, Jr. and Antonious Hudson both of Columbia, S.C.; one great granddaughter, Janiya Hodges of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Woodrow (Brenda) Hudson of Moore, S.C. and William (Francis) Hudson of Lamar, S.C.; one sister, Dora (Vincent) Higgins of Columbia, S.C.; five sisters-in-law, Lula B. Hudson and Edna Hudson of Lamar, S.C., Era Mae Gales, Doris Shell and Julliette (Fred) Samuels all of Baltimore, M.D.; Three brothers- in-law, Randy Gales of Atlanta, Carl Gales and Carnell Gales both of Baltimore, M.D.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, friends and the Greater Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church Family, who all will miss her dearly.
