On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Mr. Isaiah Hamlin, of Darlington, passed from time to eternity.
A memorial service for Mr. Isaiah Hamlin will be, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Center Baptist Church, 3420 Sally Hill Road, Timmonsville, SC 29161.
Public viewing will be Friday, March 8, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. with final rites from 5:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m. and the family hour from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel, 108 Lee Street, Darlington, SC 29532. *Public viewing only at the funeral home.

Remembering Isaiah Hamlin
Isaiah Hamlin, 81, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1943, in Darlington, SC to the late David and Martha Lee Osborne Hamlin.
At an early age he joined Center Baptist Church and worked diligently for the church serving as the Church Clerk, a Trustee and was a member of several auxiliaries. In addition, he was instrumental in planning and securing improvements and expansions to the church. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #210 and the Pee Dee United Elks Lodge #1679, and he served on numerous boards.
Isaiah received his formal education in Darlington County Public Schools and was a 1961 graduate of Mayo High School. He received an associate degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College in 1974 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Coker College in 1976.
In 1962 he joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged in April,1966.
Isaiah was joined in Holy Matrimony to Queen Esther Cannon on January 20, 1968, and they shared fifty-six years together. He has three children, Tami, Lenwood and Gregory.
He worked with Union Carbide/ESAB for many years, retiring as the Cost Accounting Manager for ESAB North America. Isaiah was a numbers man. His financial expertise was sought after by many. He volunteered with multiple churches and civic organizations helping to move them into the ‘’computer age”. One of his famous quotes was “You need to save a dollar a day and in 30 years you would have over $300,000 saved in the bank”.
He will be missed by his wife, Queen Esther Cannon Hamlin; his children, Tami Hamlin of Darlington, Lenwood Jett of Atlanta, GA, and Gregory (Ernestine) Hamlin of Darlington. His three grandboys, Julian Hamlin, Ayden Hamlin, and Gregory Hamlin Jr. One sister, Annette Boseman, a brother, Sammie (Juanita) Hamlin and a brother-in-law, Roland Gilbert; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
