Mrs. Elizabeth Adams Wilson, daughter of the late Willie “Bill” Adams and Minnie Dukes Adams, was born in Orangeburg County on April 20, 1938. On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, Mrs. Elizabeth Adams Wilson, of Timmonsville, passed from time to eternity.
She was educated at the Elloree Training School in Elloree, SC where she was a star basketball player. Shortly after graduation she moved to New York, NY where she was employed by Central Linen Service.
“Liz”, as she was affectionately called, was united in Holy Matrimony to Samuel J. Wilson.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were the proud owners of Wilson’s Service Center and Groceries for over fifty years in Sally Hill Community of Timmonsville, SC. Liz was known for her famous hot dogs.
Those who will cherish Mrs. Wilson’s loving memories are: daughter Annette Tanisha Wilson, Timmonsville, SC; grandsons Gregory Wilson and Danny Damon, both of Timmonsville, SC; sisters, Bessie Mae Adams and Hazel Adams of New York, NY, Mamie Lee Sumpter, Lottie Rodney and Patricia Snider of Elloree, SC; brothers, David (Donna) Adams, Bronx, NY and Hubert (Ola) Adams, Elloree, SC; sister-in-law Inez Adams, Randallstown, MD; an adopted son Prince (Angel) Johnson of Lynchburg, SV; an adopted daughters Cynthia Starr and Carolyn Caldwell of Florence, SC; uncle, Harry Dukes of Charleston, SC, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel John Wilson; son, Samuel John Wilson, Jr.; daughter, Veronica Damon; sisters, Maggie Mae Adams, Willie Lee Saxton, Gladys Butler, Sarah Ziegler, Barbara Jane McClary and Rosa Mae Howard; brothers, Willie Sam Adams and Jethro Adams.
Celebration of Life for Mrs. Elizabeth Adams Wilson, of Timmonsville, will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel, 108 Lee Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
Public viewing will be Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 12:00 Noon -5:00 PM at Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel, 108 Lee Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
