On Sunday, June 4, 2023, Ms. Patricia Renee Cannon, of Darlington, passed from time to eternity.

Homegoing celebration for Ms. Patricia Renee Cannon, of Darlington, will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Center Baptist Church, 3420 N Sally Hill Rd, Darlington, SC.

Interment will follow at Hart #2 Cemetery, Timmonsville Highway, Darlington, SC 29532.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM at the Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel, 108 Lee Street, Darlington, SC. 29532.

~Remembering Patricia~

Sometimes it’s hard to understand why some things have to be,

But in his wisdom God has planned beyond our power to see.

So looking back in tenderness along the path we trod,

We cherished the years we had with you and leave the rest to God.

On Sunday, June 4, 2023, God saw there was room for another rose in the Garden of Eternity, so He dispatched an Angel to bring Patricia unto Him, and she graciously accepted.

It was on July 15, 1970 this rose bloomed into this world, as the daughter of Mrs. Jannie Mae Waiters Cannon and the late Deacon David Cannon, Sr.  Although she was born in Houston, Texas, the family traveled with her father who was in the military. They resided in California before her family relocated to their family home in South Carolina. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1988 serving as the Class President.

After high school she matriculated at Columbia Junior College and graduated with an Associate in Business Administration.  Throughout her working career, she fulfilled various of her gifts being employed as a dispatch officer and her health forced her to retire as a Correctional Officer.

“Nay” as she was affectionally called by her family, explored and traveled enjoying her free time. She was an artist by nature and loved Michael Jackson and sports. Family was her most prized jewel. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and caring heart.

Due to Patricia’s health declining, she was blessed to take residence at Pruitt Health in Ridgeway, South Carolina in 2015. Although she was not physically able to be with her family, they traveled to see her constantly and she was blessed with her extended family at Pruitt Health who made these last few years special.

Forever cherishing her memories are her mother, Mrs. Jannie Mae Waiters Cannon, her sister, Mrs. Mae Helen Burch, her brother, Mr. Charles Lamont Cannon; one niece, Ms. Konstance M. Cannon; one nephew, Mr. David Charles Cannon; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Those who have preceded her to eternity are her loving father, Deacon David Cannon, Sr. and her brother, Mr. David Cannon, Jr.
